The current population of Kingston is about 1450 people; however, with the fishing and boating enthusiasts enjoying the lake throughout the year, there are many more people in the area at all times.

 

There are at least five marinas in the Kingston local area to use. Each one of them have the usual offerings along with other specialties. An example would be that the Catfish Bay Marina has the Texoma Belle Riverboat docked at this marina and available for tours. Once you get in the lake, you can visit several other marinas on the Texas shoreline. Many of them have nice restaurants and other places of interest.

Fishing is great in the area! Lake Texoma is known as the "Striper Capital of the World," and is one of a few lakes nationally where the striped bass reproduce naturally. Other popular species in the lake include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white crappie, black crappie, blue catfish and channel catfish.

Bird watchers will find two wildfowl refuges around the lake, and hunters will find plenty of game in the 80,000 acres of public hunting land. You can find everything you need for a well-rounded vacation on Lake Texoma and Kingston..

 

There are plenty of park areas where you can have a picnic out under the trees with a view of the lake. There are also covered fishing piers that will help you stay cool if you are not out on a boat.

Temperatures range from 94 degrees in July as the warmest month to 30 degrees low in January for the coolest month.
